PCA-2 (Purkinje Cell Antibody 2) Line Assay and Purkinje Line Assay AVAILABLE ON REQUEST PCA-2 Line Assay Line Assay for the detection of paraneoplastic PCA-2 autoantibodies to the Mikrotubulin-associated protein MAP1B Purkinje Line Assay Line Assay for the detection of paraneoplastic PCA-2 autoantibodies anti-Yo (PCA-1), anti- MAP1B (PCA-2), anti-Tr (DNER) and anti-Protein Kinase C ɣ (PKCɣ) PCA-2 autoantibodies are known for almost two decades. These autoantibodies bind to a 280 kDa protein in dendrites and somata of Purkinje cells showing a typical staining pattern. Clinical symptoms comprise cerebellar ataxia, brainstem, and limbic encephalitis, autonomic or motor neuropathy and Lambert-Eaton myasthenia syndrome (LEMS). As underlying antigen MAP1B, a member of the microtubule-associated protein family (MAP) has been identified. Small cell lung cancers (SCLC) are the most common associated tumours. Autoantibodies to MAP1B often co-exist with autoantibodies to GAD 65, HuD, CV2 (CRMP5), Amphiphysin and SOX1 and also with autoantibodies to surface proteins like VGKC and VGCC (Voltage Gated Potassium resp. Calcium Channels).
